Aphid Control
What are Aphids?
Aphids are tiny insects that suck plant fluid from leaves, stem and
other soft part of plants. Aphids, also known as greenfly, blackfly or
plant lice. About 4,000 species of aphids are known, classified in 10
families; of these, around 250 species are serious pests for
agriculture and forestry as well as an annoyance for gardeners.
These insects are found on almost every plant and can be
controlled by Ozoneem Trishul in most of the situation.
Natural Control of Aphids
A better line of attack is to encourage other insects which feed on
aphids. Research has very positively shown that planting certain
plants (e.g. tagetes, calendula, poached egg plant, morning glory)
near the plants which are often attacked by aphids results in much
lower numbers. The aphid's enemies include hoverflies, ladybirds,
lacewings and birds(Chemical and Toxic pesticides drive them
away).
The important point to consider with attracting beneficial insects is
that those insects rely on a steady source of aphids. When the aphid
population drops below a certain level, the insects will go
elsewhere. This in turn will allow the aphids to multiply.
Recommendation:
Ozoneem Trishul is recommended for Aphid control. It acts as
Antifeedant, Feeding Deterrent, Repellent, Oviposition Deterrent etc.,
and Physiological Responses such as Insect Growth Regulator,
Molting Inhibitor, Reproduction Inhibitor, Antifertility etc.
Ozoneem Trishul is safe for useful predators, honey bees, birds,
cattle, and the natural enemies of Aphids.
- Apply as soon as pests are observed for better results.
- Apply during immature pest stages.
- Under high pest population, chemical application is also
required.
- Use it in every 10-15 days depending upon the requirement.
- After spraying, if rain comes, then again apply the formulation
- Good mixing is required before application.
- Avoid storage of spray mixtures. Mix a fresh for every
application.
- Sprays during evening hours are preferable.
No Phytotoxicity : Micro Emulsion technology facilitates this EC formulation to produce smaller droplets which can be well eaten by A phids. Once this natural insecticide is eaten, it shows its effect as swollen throat, resulting in inability to feed, also known as feeding deterrent.
